- Name one basic quality you honestly admire in other people and why?
The quality I admire in other people is ‘overt’ friendliness: I say “overt” because some people are friendly, I consider myself friendly, but very few people are the take the initiative type. I met a new co-worker who, unlike everyone else, had a big smile on her face, introduced herself and asked who I was, then proceeded to talk and ask questions and every time I see her she uses my name and acts like we’re buds. She’s very forthcoming with personal information (not TMI) which is a quality that I appreciate because I am not one to share my life (except here – I’m a weirdo) and it puts me at ease.
- Do you own a treasured stuffed animal or doll or action figure!?!? Where did it come from?
I have but I would not say that I ‘treasure’ my hand-made Winnie-the-Pooh from my very, very youth. I had a hand-made Raggedy Anne doll but I (regret now) trashed it because it was in need of repair and cleaning and I foolishly didn’t think I was up to it. I have the bear but the word ‘treasure’ is a stretch.
- Name one vacation you took that has remained your absolute favorite!
My vacation last summer to Steamboat Springs, CO.
And now for more KC news: Wow! Just realized that my last post was four days ago. That’s a long time considering I’ve been pretty consistent with the daily writing. Well, I have been busy: work has been crazy due to the usual winter pneumonias,
flus (flues?) and other related URI – so I’ll say it again: the worst day at my new job is better than the best day at any previous jobs!!! Gratitude. I’ve been reorganizing my upper level so I can have a sewing room and a guest room both without a bunch of miscellaneous junk in them – that’s a work in progress too. I still take time for myself walking my dogs when I am off work. I have also been studying to become a financial adviser: it’s all new and very foreign to me so I can’t even articulate anything here/now but I am excited because I’ve always wanted to know how and be able to manage my money – grow it really. I have lucked out with a former software engineer/attorney as my ‘sponsor/tutor/guide’ so I imagine that, for a while, my posts will become irregular – I’ll have to put aside a designated amount of time each week just to summarize.
Today I’m headed up north to visit a friend whom I’ve not seen in over a year…fake-life – it can suck you right into it and you forget to spend time with your family and friends. Tally-ho you all and have a great Sunday!!
