second to conversation

Happy New Year!

I love a really good conversation that gets below the surface, that is thoughtful and, when I reluctantly walk away, it makes me continue to think about it hours later.

I don’t have those kinds of conversations because they usually take place between people who have intimate relationships and a large degree of openness and trust; good friends or close family.

I have two books from the library’s ‘new books’ shelf. They are due back in two weeks and I cannot reserve them – what I mean is, I can’t monopolize them until I’m done reading. One is 700 pages and the other is more ‘average’ in size.

I am going to spend as much time reading as I can to finish these books before I have to bring them back. It’s the next best thing to a really good conversation.

Daily Prompt: conversation
